About Us

Our Mission

The Precision Agriculture Special Interest Group ( PA SIG) has been formed to inform and encourage the adoption of the latest technology at a farm and land level. To achieve this we are working with farmers and land managers, researchers, technology developers and educational institutions to create a forum through which collaborative innovation can occur and knowledge exchange to promote the adoption and uptake of technology and innovative solutions for land management to improve productivity and reduce carbon impact in our region.

People

The project is being convened by Davina Fillingham a Nuffield Farming Scholar in Precision Agriculture to drive the adoption of technology in the region for agriculture and Land Management. The project is being Administered by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's Network Co-ordinator and Funding Strategist Holly Jones.

The project is being supported in its delivery with a steering group of industry specialists and innovators.

Objectives and Outputs

 

  • Develop a dedicated Precision Agriculture Website to act as a knowledge resource, contact channel and promote events and learning opportunities

  • Engage a Precision Agriculture Steering group  to maximise the deliver of the project and its outreach

  • Hold  knowledge exchange / Peer to Peer Learning Events

  • Facilitate conversations and connections between farmers, businesses and Key stakeholders  with networking events and an Agri- tech Exhibition.

  • Develop links with appropriate research Institutions ensuring they have access to to applied research requirements from sector producers.
